The devastating Gaza hospital blast is shrouded in uncertainty. Here’s what we know, and what we don’t

The article is talking about an explosion that happened at the Al-Alhi Baptist Hospital. There is a video that shows the moment the explosion happened, and it was so big that it lit up the sky. The explosion happened on the hospital grounds and caused a cloud of fire and smoke to rise up into the air.

In this passage, it is described that there was a state of panic in a building, which happened to be a hospital. Dr. Fadel Na’eem, who is in charge of the orthopedic department, explains that he was in the middle of performing a surgery when a very loud blast occurred within the hospital. As a result, chaos broke out as hospital staff rushed into the operating room, shouting for assistance and informing others about the numerous injured individuals.

Dr. Na’eem further explained in a recorded video for CNN that he had just finished one surgery when suddenly a massive explosion took place. Initially, they believed the explosion happened outside the hospital because they never expected the hospital itself to be targeted and bombed.

Israel-Hamas war rages as Biden arrives in Tel Aviv

The Israel-Hamas conflict continues to escalate as US President Joe Biden arrives in Tel Aviv for talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The conflict, which started on May 10, has seen intense fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.

The conflict began after tensions rose in Jerusalem over the eviction of Palestinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and Israeli police crackdown on Palestinian protesters at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Hamas, the militant group that controls Gaza, launched rocket attacks on Israeli cities in response, leading Israel to launch airstrikes on Gaza.

The violence has resulted in a significant number of casualties, with hundreds of Palestinians killed, including many civilians, and several Israelis also losing their lives. The destruction of infrastructure, including residential buildings, schools, and hospitals, has further exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

President Biden has expressed support for Israel's right

According to CNN's correspondent, Lauren Izso, there have been reports of sirens and loud explosions in Tel Aviv.

Sirens and loud explosions heard over Tel Aviv"  in the city othere were sounds of sirens wailing and loud explosions taking place. This could indicate that there was an emergency situation or a conflict occurring in the area, causing alarm and concern among the residen

It was not immediately obvious or understandable whether the loud explosions heard were caused by Israel's anti-rocket defense systems intercepting incoming rockets, or if they were the sound of rockets launched by militants landing in Israel.

How did Israel and the Palestinians get along?

Tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have existed since before the nation’s founding in 1948. Thousands of people on both sides have been killed and many more injured in the long-simmering conflict between the two sides over the past few decades.

Violence has been particularly heightened this year. The number of Palestinians – militants and civilians – killed in the occupied West Bank by Israeli forces is at its highest in nearly two decades. The same is true of Israelis and foreigners – most of them civilians – killed in Palestinian attacks.

Israel and the militant group Hamas have been involved in armed conflict dating back as early as the 1987 First Palestinian Intifada, or uprising, against Israel’s occupation of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Videos show Hamas seizing Israelis

In another video, also geolocated by CNN to Gaza, several Israeli soldiers are seen being held captive by Hamas militants. They are blindfolded and their hands are bound. The soldiers appear to be under duress and are surrounded by armed militants.

These videos, authenticated by CNN, provide evidence that Hamas has taken hostages and prisoners of war during its surprise attack on Saturday morning. The incident occurred in and near Gaza, with the videos showing individuals being forcibly taken against their will.

These actions by Hamas are considered a violation of international law, as taking hostages and prisoners of war is prohibited. It is a serious matter that further escalates the conflict between Israel and Hamas, adding to the already tense situation in the region.
In the given context, the sentence describes a distressing situation. It states that a person is bleeding and their wrists seem to be tied with cable ties behind their back. Additionally, the vehicle they are in, a jeep, has a license plate belonging to the Israel Defense Forces, indicating that it might have been stolen and taken into Gaza.

The sentence also mentions another video that shows Hamas militants capturing multiple Israelis. CNN has determined the location of this video to be Be'eri, a place in southern Israel.

Senior Hamas member says the militant group is ready for "worst-case scenario"

A senior member of Hamas, a militant group, has stated that they are prepared for the worst possible situation. This statement was made by the Hamas member to CNN's Ibrahim Dahman and Abeer Salman.

In this statement, Al-Arouri is stating that there are active and concentrated efforts from both                       international and regional actors to resolve the crisis. However, he emphasizes that currently, the                 most significant priority is the ongoing battle or conflict. This implies that despite the efforts for                 resolution, the immediate focus is on the fighting or struggle at hand.

The Izzedine al Qassam Brigades, which is the military branch of Hamas, stated on Saturday that                they are currently engaged in fighting in 25 different areas. They also mentioned in their statement              that there are ongoing conflicts taking place at the Re'im military base, which is located near the                   border between Gaza and Israel in the northern region.

Brazil calls for emergency meeting of UN Security Council after attack on Israel

The foreign ministry expressed strong disapproval of the attack carried out by Hamas and                       expressed support for the Israeli people. It emphasized that there is no justification for the use of            violence

Foreign minister expressed deep concern over the surprise attack on Israel that occurred on Saturday. As Brazil currently holds the presidency of the United Nations Security Council, they have announced their intention to convene an emergency meeting of the council in response to this incident. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss and address the situation and its implications. The Brazilian government is urging everyone involved to be very careful and not use excessive force, especially against innocent people. They want everyone to calm down and stop the situation from getting worse.

Brazil's support for a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine remains unchanged.
